Welcome to my World, I’m Darius Botley, a photographer, professional saxophonist, and passionate music educator based in Chicago and Central IL. Whether I’m behind the lens, on stage, or in the classroom, I strive to create meaningful connections through art and education. 

Music is my Voice: 

I’ve been performing the saxophone for over 14 years, bringing jazz, R&B, and soul to stages across the Chicagoland area. From intimate lounges to large festivals, I love creating musical moments that move people. I’m currently available for solo performances, group gigs, weddings, private events, and studio sessions.

Teaching is my Purpose: 

With a degree in Music Education and Jazz Studies, plus years of experience in both private and classroom instruction, I’m passionate about helping students grow their musical voice. I offer saxophone lessons (beginner to advanced), theory coaching, and improvisation workshops focused on building skills and confidence.

Light Framed with intention 

Photography allows me to freeze the energy of a moment. I specialize in portrait and event photography, with a creative focus on off-camera flash to bring drama and depth to every image. Whether you're an artist needing promo shots, a couple planning an engagement shoot, or someone looking to express themselves, I love collaborating to bring your vision to life.

More than a resume:

While music, teaching, and photography may seem like separate lanes, they all share one thing: storytelling. Each note, lesson, or photo is a chance to connect with someone’s spirit — and that’s what drives me every day. I aspire to make a difference in the world, and I believe that in order to make change, we have to start with the youth. I aim to help motivate and inspire the youth to be the best version of themselves and to strive for greatness in everything that they do.
